Scandy Pro + Digital Doubles from Reallusion with Headshot 2
The Internet is abuzz with AI-generated artwork. I've seen some great images. I have created some dud ones with my copy-and-paste prompts. I am not an artist (digital or otherwise). However, I can certainly appreciate the level of skill that goes into creating a digital image or 3D model. And while it is cool to see artwork from prompts, I still prefer the human touch.
Watching a digital artist work on a 2D image or a 3D model is pretty magical. The question I have - who is going to be the 3D artist equivalent of Bob Ross? What will the 2020's version of "happy little accidents" be in the digital realm of 3D creation?
I would be willing to bet that it will be someone using tools from Reallusion. They have a suite of fantastic digital imaging software products. It is hard not to be blown away when looking at their tools. Applying lifelike movements to 2D and 3D characters seems like a daunting task to me, but their software makes it easy.
Reallusion has just launched their Headshot 2 application for 'Digital Double Creation'. All of us at Scandy have long believed that Scandy Pro would be a great tool for creating avatars. Finally, there is a workflow that helps digital artists take a raw scan of a face or head and turn it into something magical. To see a character that started with a Scandy Pro scan in a movie or video game would be fantastic. I expect that with the tools available now, it won't be long before that happens.
